Peter Baltor – Biography of the World’s Happiest Dog
Peter came to us in November 2003 via our vet’s pet rescue in Northern California.
One of our pups had cancer and was being treated several times per week. During this time, we saw Peter for over a year at our vet’s office. He was recuperating from surgery to fix an injury to his “boy bits”. It was love at first sight for me, but was told that Peter had a long recovery ahead of him and would not be available for adoption until he was fully healed from his “reconstructive” surgeries. I told my husband that if Peter was still there the next time I was at the vet, I was going to bring him home. Many months passed…next time I was at the vet’s office, I asked about Peter. He was available for adoption so I brought him home! The vet was so happy that we adopted Peter. She thought he was a very special boy that deserved a loving forever home.
We inquired about Peter’s past and were told he had been adopted twice before and had been returned both times. Crazy lucky for us because he fit perfectly into our pack. We kept his name as Peter for obvious reasons and it just fit him perfectly! Peter turned out to be the absolute happiest dog in the world. His tail is always a blur in pictures because it never stops wagging. He loves everyone and everything. He has many nicknames, but the most appropriate is Dr. Peter J. Love – the LOVE doctor. I recently had his DNA tested. Peter is 75% Miniature Poodle and 25% Chiahua! What a surprise!
Peter loves his visits to Village Park Animal Hospital! Everyone (vets, techs, front-desk staff) has been AMAZING to our boy and for that, we are eternally grateful.
