Employee of the month – December 2017!

Born and raised in Berlin, Germany. Came to the US at age 19. Originally I only wanted to stay 1 year, but it turned out to be 13 years.

Worked as a governess for several years in the Washington, D.C. area. Then transitioned to working in the hotel field, which I really enjoyed. Worked several years for Holiday Inn in Silver Spring, MD as a front desk clerk and front office manager. I got homesick and returned to Berlin for a few years. Worked several years in a 4 star hotel in downtown Berlin where I was in charge of reservations. During that time I experienced the fall of the Berlin Wall, which was a very trying, exciting time.

In 1992 I returned to the US (my second home) and placed my roots in southern California. Since it was a bit challenging to get back into the hotel field, I took a position in a veterinary office in Pacific Palisades and my new passion was born. Then we’ve moved to Palm Desert. After trying a couple of different veterinary offices to work in, I found VPAH.

I have been with Dr. Carlson and VPAH since December 2001 without any regrets. Here I am able to continue my passion, perhaps make a bit of a difference. We are a wonderful team and working for a visionary veterinarian makes this all so much more exciting.

What do I do for fun? I enjoy to be with my two cats. Ms Paris, Putzel and my newest addition, Flynn. I love to read, to walk, to drive and to go to a show or a play now and then. I have traveled quite a bit to various places in the US as well as Europe and will continue to work on my bucket list of faraway destinations.

What you don’t know about me: Somewhere along the way I’ve picked up running and have run the N.Y. City, Las Vegas and Berlin marathon. Numerous 10 and 5 k’s as well as the Tram Road Challenge 3 times.
